Ilocos Region Information Sharing Network (IRISNET) is an online portal
initiated by the Regional Development Council (RDC) Region 1.
All
possible information and statistics about the region are contained in this
portal and accessible through the Internet to include Current development
information and statistics of the region

To
facilitate prompt interconnectivity among development partners, government and
non-government organization to increase awareness on the region’s current
issues/development, R&D and technology
Specific
To
provide links to various websites of government agencies, LGUs, business
firms/industries (SMEs, large enterprises, tourism-oriented and related
enterprises, and the like), and NGOs in the region
To
showcase the region as a main tourism destination and a hub for agribusiness
investments
To
promote information and communication awareness about the region and its
products and services
To
serve as an advocacy tool of the Regional Development Councils along its 4 key
result areas KRAs): Economic Development, Social Development, Infrastructure and
Utilities Development, and Governance
The IRISNET website is an interactive website which online users can
interactively take part in populating the database of the Ilocos Region portal
Online participants to the portal must register (thru the online log in form)
then submit the desired information for the screening of the clearing house
before it can appear online
Information in hard copies and the efile can also be submitted to the RDC
secretariat for screening before it will be uploaded in the portal
Prospective local and foreign investors, tourists and other interested and
potential locators in the region, can easily access the information

¨ The IRISNET Clearing House is responsible in qualifying, selecting and editing the contributions (articles/factsheets and the eCommerce) to the Portal
¨ The Clearing House is the Secretariat of the RDC which is the NEDA Regional Office I
¨ The Knowledge Management Division (KMD) of the NEDA Regional Office is the division responsible in the maintenance and updating of the portal
