The Regional Development Resource Center plays a dynamic role in providing information for study and research along development. It is a World Bank Repository of library resources along governance and public administration, economics and social issues. The following are some of the questions mostly asked by users regarding this project:

 

Who can use the Regional Development Resource Center

The Regional Development Resource Center is open to all users. since the library is focused on regional development, priority is given to planning and development staffs of LGUs and NGAs. Library users can access a variety of resources including databases, development plans (regional and national) maps (electronic and hard copy), journals, magazines, and annual regional development  reports on the major activities of the Regional Development Council are also found in the library.

Does the Regional Development Resource Center offer appropriate references for students?

Yes. The Regional Development Resource Center caters to all students with a focus on graduate studies in public/development administration, economics, urban and rural development planning. The vast collection of the library is supported by a pool of experts from the NEDA Region I Office. These experts offer technical assistance along physical planning, investment programming and budgeting, monitoring and evaluation, and geo-information system. Hence, students can tap the NEDA experts as consultants or advisers.

How to access Library Materials?

Borrowers could access Library Materials in two ways. First they could visit the NRO-I website and search for available library materials using the on-line e-library 'Catalogues' searching facility. Secondly, if they found an available library material through the search catalogue facility, they could go to the library and borrow personally the library material.

How to register

Borrower registration is done before a borrower could borrow or reserve any material from the library. The librarian will ask basic personal information to the borrower and the information will be saved in a database and each borrower will be given a unique ID which will be used in every library transaction. A 'borrowing rule' will be assigned to each borrower based on his/her associated organization which will define the number of books the borrower could borrow and reserve.

What are the advantages of having an on-line borrower's account?

Part of the registration process, a borrower has the option of having an on-line borrower's account. These accounts contain the library transaction information of each borrower. A borrower could track his/her library material loan history by accessing his/her account. Reservations, penalties and borrowing limits information for each borrower are also available through the accounts.

How to use a borrower on-line account?

After registering, a borrower will be given a user name and a password. He or she then will use these information to a access his or her on-line account. All the borrower needs to do is to visit this URL: http://www.ilocos.net.ph/LIBRARY/login.php and enter his or her user name and password to login.
